Several female figurines from 4000-3500 B.C. have been discovered, and occasionally they were found in tomb scenes. There have also been tattoo tools discovered in the town of Gurob in northern Egypt that date back to 1300 B.C. And more enlightening are the mummies that have been discovered in Egypt, dating back as far as 2000 B.C.
A brief study into the history of tattoos makes it clear that the practice has been around for a very long time. Today, the art continues.
